Scot Byrd | Vice President,
Prior to joining BBI, Scot was director of economic development for Pointe Coupee parish for five years. He is a certified Louisiana economic developer, a program administered by Southeastern Louisiana University. He serves as the chair of the training committee for this program with Southeastern Louisiana University and LIDEA (Louisiana Economic Development Executives Association), Louisiana's statewide organization for economic development.
Scot also serves on the Pointe Coupee parish planning and zoning commission. He is a state commissioner for the Zachary Taylor Parkway commission and was a long time board member of the region 20 workforce board for the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
Scot was a finance manager and sales manager for a Fortune 1000 company, Snap-on Tools, for 25 years in Memphis, Chicago, Cleveland, and finally moving to Baton Rouge in 1999. He served as the Total Quality Initiative manager and EEOC compliance officer for the Chicago region during his time as finance manager. Scot spent most of the balance of his career in sales and business coaching, teaching Snap-on franchise owners how to be successful in business. Scot retired from Snap-on in 2007. Scot also has owned two award winning RadioShack franchises for 15 years, located in New Roads and Plaquemine, Lousiana.
Scot lives in Ventress, Louisiana with his wife of over 35 years, Millie. They have two children, Scot and Missy. Their son, Scot, is a business owner. Their daughter, Missy, is an RN nurse. Scot and Millie have one grandchild, Callie Mae Byrd. They also have two dogs, Loki and Elvis. Scot enjoys reading, playing golf, sailing, motorcycle riding, and poker.
