Louisiana National Guard Warehouse.
Louisiana National Guard Sgt. Todd Lowe, Facilities Manager
The Louisiana Guard selected BBI Architects to help them with building a new 9200 sf warehouse after damage to the previous warehouse by Hurricane Gustave.
We needed a plan to rehabilitate the old site and coordinate the design of a new slab and civil engineering of the site to accommodate the new steel building.
The new building was to have features and amenities not present in the old building.
BBI Architects designed a new 400 sf, air conditioned office as one of the new features incorporated into the new warehouse. We also added overhead canopies for the four loading docks to provide weather protection for members of the Guard. The Guard was able to expand the amenities and scope of the project due to BBI's cost conscious design and management strategies.
The project also included heat for the warehouse, individual ramps for each loading dock, and emergency back-up power capacity.
