Truett’s Grill

Client:

Truett Grill, Griffin, GA - 5000 square foot transportation themed restaurant

Project:

Truett’s Grille, a 5000sf transportation themed restaurant in Griffin, Georgia

Challenge:

Function

Design a restaurant with a full service dining room and a separate quick-serve dining area with a drive thru window.

Aesthetic

Another aspect of the project was to create a theme that incorporated numerous pieces of the client’s eclectic memorabilia collection. This also included the client’s desire to either incorporate or recreate a 1920’s era trolley car within the building.

Solution:

Function

We solved this dilemma by splitting the restaurant roughly in half. So when entering you can either go to the quick-serve side or the full service dining room. After much consideration, we were able to design the flow of the kitchen to serve both areas while maintaining efficient product flow and food safety.

Aesthetic

After reviewing the client’s collections and collaborating with the design staff of Chick-fil-A we determined that the restaurant should take on a “Transportation” theme. In keeping with that theme, we decided that the building should be designed around a Diner inspired Art Deco/Art Moderne style. In collaboration with various designers, vendors, engineers, etc. what emerged was a very successful, aesthetically pleasing project that incorporated the clients needs and most of their wants in a complete package.
